Rural-3 (R-3) Intent</h3> <ul> <li><strong>Desired Future Character</strong>: Development, use, and conservation in the R-3 zone should be located and designed to respect property rights, allow for wildlife permeability, and preserve scenic viewsheds. The maximum density of the R-3 is defined by existing property rights, with residential use being preferred.</li> <li><strong>Existing Character</strong>: The R-3 zone generally includes rural subdivisions and neighborhoods with lots of 6 acres or less that are used for a single-family dwelling.</li> <li><strong>Comprehensive Plan</strong>: The R-3 zone is primarily based on the vision for conservation subareas identified in the Comprehensive Plan's Illustration of Our Vision chapter.</li> </ul>
